In this series of photographs, which I call "Essential Elements," I am exploring the essential image elements of space and tone while preserving a sense of place. Basically, I reduce the image to discrete tone determined segments by applying various digital techniques that may include posterization, tonal changes, edge modifications, local contrast changes, lighting effects, the use of collage, texture, distortion, and gradients.
